She decided she wanted to be a larger part of this community, but how? There was a national pinup group looking for state chapter leaders, she applied for a position immediately, but for reasons unknown to her not much came from it and she was disappointed. During this time Lacey met a really amazing local Pinup group, the Queens of 801. We adore them and love their organization, they told Lacey they were recruiting but she was hesitant as she wanted to start her own group. |
Lacey told Brittnie, the founder and president of the Queens of 801 that she wanted to start my own group. Lacey asked her advice and she's helped us get this far. We look forward to the amazing things our groups may do together.
Society pits women against each and we feel like we have to compete. As a Beehive Bettie, one of our group goals is to uplift and empower each other while helping out in the community and representing the pinup life style in a clean, classy way. We want this group to be all about having fun. It is for local pinups to catch up at least once a month, this way other ladies in the area can make like-minded friends and give each other advice. It's open to anyone over the age of 18, we don't discriminate against anyone, shapes, sizes, race, tattoos, none of these effect your participation in this amazing group. We just want some with a love of the fashion and a good heart. |
One thing Lacey is passionate about is Juvenile Diabetes/Type 1 Diabetes, her younger brother is a Type 1 Diabetic so one thing she has in the works will be a Diabetes fundraiser for next summer. Some of the things we may do when we aren't fundraising may include vintage shopping, checking out historic landmarks, photo shoots, car shows, movie nights, bowling and so much more!
Beehive Bettie's Mission Statement: Our goal is to provide a safe environment for other Bettie's, this means a fun carefree place to share stories, our makeup and hair tips, as well as thoughts and ideas for fundraisers. We want to empower women of all shapes and sizes and help each other make friends while finding our self worth and the confidence we all deserve.
If you're interested in joining there are a few ways to go about doing so! You can e-mail Lacey at [email protected] or if you'd like to meet with us in person we will be at three upcoming car shows/pinup contests. (Scare Away Cancer, Kulture Krash ii and the Bo Huff Memorial.) These flyers will be posted to the bottom of the blog if you're interested in meeting us! We're really excited to meet so many of you wonderful ladies and we can't wait to get started.
