As you can already tell, October is a very busy month in the pinup community. Starting October 3rd our girls started to enjoy their very vintage Halloween! We kicked off the month of October by attending Scare Away Cancer. This spell-binding Halloween car show and pinup contest was a blast. There was trunk-or-treating for the little ones, lots of different raffles and vendors. |
Our dolls, Bella Valentine, Eva Arsenic, Ruby Dee, Mo, Lacey Chiffon, Miss. Starlet Stella, Kelsey and Martha all attended, even in the gloomy weather with overcast skies and periodic bursts of down pours, all our gals remained beautiful and had a great time!
Our last event of October was the Bo Huff memorial, the Salt City Saints car club to hold their annual car show. Last year the boys were able help the Monreal family and raised a large cash donation for medical bills and partnered with Rest in Peace, a non-profit organization, who helped raise money to purchase a headstone for little Ofelia Monreal. All proceeds raised went to the Huff family and the Rest in Peace organization. On August 4th, Bo Huff, the legendary custom car builder from Dragerton, UT, passed away from cancer, leaving his family with tremendous medical bills. His friendship and support to the surrounding car clubs has left a lasting impression. And his legacy will live through the friendships he built. It is the Salt City Saints C.C. way of paying it forward and helping out this incredible family. Bo's children Maddy, James and Jr. Huff will be in attendance along with Monique Wood who cared for Bo during his last years. |
There is something truly amazing about car shows, with the music and the cars, you can really feel the spirit of the fifties. It's almost like time traveling! | There were three rockabilly bands, all of which were amazing! Kitty and the Cruisers had a very talented female singer, Mad Max and the Wild Ones were very young boys which made their talent and sound even more amazing! And the of course we all loved the Hurricane Kings, with Ashley Marie's husband, Mike as the bassist. |
Perfectly Pinup Accessories was also a huge hit at the show! With her hand crafted pinup and rockabilly jewelry, hair accessories and more. Her booth was very popular! And it made for a very dry sanctuary for our girls. And of course, the pinup contest was amazing. Ashley Marie always knows how to put on a hell of a show! This contest was an absolute blast made up of only the Beehive Betties and the Queens of 801. | We look forward to all the other fun events we get to do with her! She is so supportive of us and is one of our biggest sponsors! |
Don't forget to get in on our November fun! We are doing a thirty day November photo challenge beginning on November 1st! If you tag us on Instagram and hashtag #BBPinups you may even be featured on our Instagram page.
